Amateur Radio

Licence exams

Number of entrants --- 1
- That happened. We don't know if he passed yet because Advanced.
Scheduling for practical work --- N/A
Next exams: Fri 6th May, deadline: 22nd April.
- Applicants: Arihant for Advanced, David Young for Intermediate, Freddie for Advanced, Mohit for Foundation, Josh for Advanced, Caroline for Foundation.

- 1.6ish m of ladder line (pay Tyler)
- 1 BNC connector (pay Tyler)
- 1 BNC connector (pay Club)

Science and Engineering Family Day report

Our usual demos --- PiSSTV, HF rig with Graeme's End-fed Zepp
New demo --- morse code stuff, with morse key and IC-7000, let people sign their names in morse and then pick them up on the FT-920.
Murray forgot his netbook
Morse code worked really well
Plan for computers with audio input
Composite monitor could have been cool (for radio screen output)
Arihant has an idea to get a load of ECS societies to join in a mini treasure hunt or something, with a small prize if they collect clues at all of them.
HF contest going on
- We got quite a few contacts (just giving out points)
  - South West Russia, Finland, Slovenia, Slovakia, Italy
