preperation
- Parts
- N type connector (the yaesu spare works well)
- Tools
- cross head screwdriver
- Soldering iron
Steps
- Remove the 8 screws holding the base of the IC-700 on then lift of the base.
- Unscrew the RF connector you want to remove.
- Unsolder the RF connection tab from the power amplifier board then remove the connector from the back of the radio.
- Unsolder the conection tab from the back of the previous connector.
- Solder the connection tab to the back of the new connector, making sure to get the distance from the back of the connector correct, you can line it up by eye by placing the connection to the back of the radio. For the yaesu connector we had you can align the base of the clip with the end of the solder tab on the back of the connector
- reinsert the connector into the back of the radio so that the top of the tap fits through the hole for the RF connector.
- Solder the tab back into the Power amplifier board.
- Replace the bottom of the IC-7000.
- Test
