SOWN

• Review of Sown-vms-b53-1 deployment
  • Deployment was successful
  • Tim has been working on setting up the server and deploying RAID checks.
  • Did all the install over IPMI so we are happy to deploy in B53 when possible.
  • Decide to not run Kimchi for now just running VirtManager and virsh from command line.
  • We should install new VMs on both VMSs using PXE boot rather than using precanned images.
    • Saves time adding new OS, only need to add once.
    • Install will use mirror servers to install latest packages.
• Planning for redeployment of Sown-vms-b53-1 and Sown-gw to B53 level 3 server room to join Backup2
  • See if we can get an old 3750G for B53 so we can have identical setup to B32
    • daveruss will ask Lance about this.
    • We would need to install firmware and configure before we could deploy in B53.
  • If we cannot get a switch we need 7 switchports in B53. We also need SOWN uplink and ECS DMZ VLANs trunked to the iSolutions switch.
  • Moving gw will require co-ordination with iSolutions as access to B59 L1 hub room could be tricky.
  • Assuming we get the switch we will need 4U of extra space in B53 rack (3U if we do not get a spare switch)
