Freshers Week 2011

The Fresher's week of 2011 will be the first since the Club has reformed as the Southampton University Wireless Society. We are planning to put on plenty of activity and events to advertise the Club and get students interested in the hobby of Amateur Radio.

Freshers Week starts on Monday 26th September. We are in the process of planning events, stay tuned(:-P)!

Ideas:

• Small demo table inside.
  • HF rx, 2m repeater, 2m simplex (+DSSTV from remote location?)
  • People around soton with HTs for demo contacts on simplex?
  • Possible FSTV setup
  • (phil) - Most people will only want a 2 minute demo at most, then move on, we can do HF contacts later at the portable station.

Portable station

We are planning a large portable setup at some point in the week (weekend of 1st/2nd Oct?) to demonstrate what we currently do and the variety that can be done!
