What are the features and benefits of being part of SUWS?
What are the development outcomes from being part of SUWS? (you can simply list 2-4 things)
Can only ECS students join the society?
While the majority of our members are from ECS we have many from other departments and even outside the uni as well
Is it affiliated with SUSU/National Scheme?
We are affiliated with SUSU and the RSGB (Radio Society of Great Britain)
(should we mention Janet and ECS?)
Is it delivered by SUSU?
What types of roles can a student occupy withing the society? (president, treasurer etc...)
Do you meet on campus? (If yes what building/room)
We meet in Zepler CLS on Thursday evenings from 18:00. There are meetings every first and third Thursdays the other Thursdays are activity evenings so we might be operating or doing other activities elsewhere.
Can all year students join?
Is it only during term time that things are happening in the society?
no we still meet during the summer
How many hours per week do you devote to it?
Is there a capacity to the society?
no, there is no limit on the amount of people who can join
Are there any prerequisites to join?
no, there are no perquisites
Are any of the roles paid?
no, Although we have had ECS sponsored intern-ships in the past (validate this)
What would be an interesting fact about the society?
Do you involve alumni in any way?
Many alumni are still active members of the society in addition we are still in contact with many of the societies alumni even back to those from the ....s
