The VHF National Field Day

This is the page for the 2013 VHF National Field Day.

We have put in a joint application with Basingstoke ARC, we will be using G3KMI/P on 2m and 70cm.

Location

We will be sharing a site used by the Basingstoke ARC, the site is ~160m ASL and has great views from north-west through to south-east. There is a remote station on the same hill that regularly gets 10GHz contacts with Germany.

Bands

We will be operating on 2m and 70cm as completely separate stations, both using the G3KMI/P callsign.

Planning

Radio Kit

• Rig (FT897 All-mode?) (on loan from Basingstoke ARC)
• Power supply (on loan from Basingstoke ARC)
• Amplifier (100W ?) (on loan from Basingstoke ARC)
• Antenna (Yagi + 10m mast?) (on loan from Basingstoke ARC)
• Generator (on loan from Basingstoke ARC)
• Mains Extension leads
• RCD + Current meter

Group Kit

• Tables - more are better (morse has one)
• Chairs - more are better
• Operating tent (need to be able to stand up)
• Sleeping tent
• Cooking tent (if its very wet)
• Straw bale (if its wet)
• Mosquito repellent

• Bread
• Bacon
• Sausages
• Eggs
• Margerine
• Oil
• Ketchup and Mayonnaise
• Lemonade/Cola
• Beer (honesty bar - not everyone drinks)
