This page lists a range of projects being worked on by the society and our members.

These are projects have been recently created.

SUWS Antenna Array

Active Projects

These are projects that are actively being worked on.

	FT-101 Restoration Status: In Progress Project Lead: User:SkylerMansfield
	HF Yagi Refurbishment Status: In Progress Project Lead: User:TylerWard The clubs HF Yagi (a Cushcraft A-3S antenna) is in need of some refurbishment to put it back into a usable state. Some parts of the antenna have either corroded away or have been lost and need replacing, while others can be restored to working order.
	Pi-SSTV Zero Status: In Progress Project Lead: User:Stealthbird97
	Rackmount Battery Unit Status: In Progress Project Lead: TylerWard A rackmountbale battery unit for the mobile operating station
	Southampton Open Wireless Network Status: Ongoing Project Lead: User:DavidNewman SOWN (the Southampton Open Wireless Network) is a project which aims to build a free-to-use wireless network in Southampton
	SUSU Antenna Array Status: Ongoing Project Lead: User:TylerWard This project aims to build a new amateur radio antenna array to mount on the students union, along with an operating station within the building. This would be of benefit to SUWS as well as other societies.
	Slim Jim antenna construction Status: Ongoing Project Lead: [[]] Documentation of the construction of a 2m Slim Jim antenna, done alongside intermediate exam practicals.

Deployed projects

These are projects which are currently deployed. These projects will have ongoing maintenance and upgrades but are not in active development.

SOWN Zepler

Project to deploy a SOWN node and SDR on the roof of the Zepler building

Completed projects

These are previous projects which have been completed

	Mobile operating station Status: Completed Project Lead: TylerWard A portable and easy to deploy radio operating station
	Morse Sounder Status: Completed Project Lead: User:TylerWard To design a morse code sidetone generator. The finished version of which will be made into a kit that can be used as an intermediate project.
	Pi-FM Pi-Hat Status: Completed Project Lead: User:HenryKennedy
	Powerpole Distribution Box Project Status: Completed Project Lead: User:TylerWard A DC power distribution board using Anderson powerpole connectors
	Server PSU Based Radio Power Supply Status: Completed Project Lead: User:Stealthbird97 A low cost, high current power supply for Amateur Radio utilising a Server PSU.
	T500 Modifications Status: Completed Project Lead: User:Sciguy16
	Tunable Dipole Status: Completed Project Lead: User:Stealthbird97 Tunable dipole for use in foundation training.

Inactive projects

These projects are either concept ideas for projects or projects which aren't currently being worked on development

	Make a Yagi Status: Defunct Project Lead: User:Sciguy16 Make a 2m/70cms dual band portable yagi
	Portsdown Transmitter Status: Defunct Project Lead: User:Sciguy16 A self-contained system for capturing and transmitting digital amateur TV on the 71, 146 MHz, 437 MHz, 23cm, and 13cm bands

	SUWS WebSDR Status: Defunct Project Lead: User:Phil The SUWS Farnham WebSDR is a web-based multi-user remote radio receiver, designed to let anyone tune in and listen to Radio signals received by the Array of Antennas installed at 30m AGL just north of Farnham, Surrey.
